As a rule, celebrity arrests are dreadfully boring. The script almost never changes: a DUI, a scuffle with a photographer, a tearful Notes-app apology, and the whole affair is forgotten before the mugshot even begins circulating.
The ones that endure are rarer and considerably stranger. These are the arrests that make no sense on paper and even less in context, where the circumstances are either so trivial or so baroque that they outlive any filmography. Some of what follows is scandalous, a little of it is sad, and most of it is inexplicable. All of it, regrettably for the parties involved, is on the record.
