"The first thing that got us debating was the necrophiliac scene in the first Outlast. We had a lot of conversations about do we do it? Are we going too far with this? And how does it make sense in this environment? That was a heated conversation."
There are many scenes from Outlast that are burned into my memory, The Groom's sequence in Outlast's Whistleblower DLC, the finger amputation from the first game, or perhaps it was landing on a bunch of baby bones in Outlast 2. There's quite a lot to pick from over two games, a DLC, and the live service The Outlast Trials. But if Philippe Morin, co-founder of Red Barrels, had to pick the scene that made the team really stop and think about whether this was ok he'd go back to the first game.
