When Alex Wittlin makes the 6-mile drive home every day from his workplace near Atlanta, 22 eyes follow him.

On May 3, something else was following him: police cars with their sirens on.

Spotting the lights less than a mile from his home, Wittlin turned onto a side street and pulled his gleaming red Pontiac Firebird over. Then the guns came out.

“Hands up!” an officer is heard yelling in body camera video Wittlin later obtained from the suburban Dunwoody Police Department. After following orders to walk backward and drop to his knees, he was placed in handcuffs and questioned by officers from Dunwoody and the neighboring community of Doraville.
