A 20-year-old Texas man died while climbing the Matterhorn in Switzerland.

Kieran Liner, from Austin, was ascending the iconic peak with his friend, Eli Hawkins, on Oct. 27 when the tragedy occurred, according to CBS Austin and a GoFundMe set up by his sister, Precenia Newman. The Valais Cantonal Police said in an Oct. 28 news release that the accident occurred approximately 11,500 feet up the mountain and was caused by rockfalls.
