The Expanse: Osiris Reborn looks like it's carrying the best bits of Mass Effect forward, and in an encouraging move, the developers have been collaborating with David Gaider.
Of course, David Gaider is best known as the lead writer on Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition - he's also often credited as the architect of its dark fantasy world Thedas. Gaider's post-BioWare career saw him open his own game development house Summerfall Studios, which most recently released an ambitious roleplaying musical called Stray Gods.
