Kimberly Guilfoyle's time as ambassador to Greece has ended, but new reports suggest her posting there may have been intended as punishment.

An Investigation published by Greek newspaper Kathimerini described claims alleging that the Trump family wanted Guilfoyle removed from the US after insulting texts to Bettina Anderson were connected to her.

The report comes days after the former ambassador was asked to step down from her diplomatic role following allegations of financial misconduct, which she has denied.

A new investigation suggests that Guilfoyle's Greek appointment came after "a vicious falling-out" with her ex-fiancé Don Jr. when he discovered the messages she had sent about his partner Anderson.

According to the source, the Trump family didn't take too kindly to the messages, as they desired her removal from the country entirely, which led to her diplomatic appointment to Greece.

The outlet's investigation found that sending Guilfoyle overseas was intentionally done to put "thousands of miles between her and the president's family."

Guilfoyle reportedly had negative things to say about Don Jr's relationship with his new wife and allegedly concurred with an insult by Deters calling Anderson a "[expletive]."

The 57-year-old also accused Anderson of sending bikini photographs to the Daily Mail, underscoring her issues with the 39-year-old, which appeared to backfire on her.

Guilfoyle's appointment to Greece was believed to suggest to officials in the country that she had enormous influence in Washington, given her perceived closeness to Trump.

However, her posting, as earlier mentioned, was supposedly less about her qualifications and more about dealing with a problem within the Trump family orbit, as per the source.

According to the Associated Press, she started her former role in Athens last year in November as the country pursued a massive defense modernization program.

Guilfoyle's posting coincided with cooperation between Greece and the United States, putting her in a high-profile role.

However, she was subsequently removed following the allegations that emerged against her. Deputy chief of mission and experienced diplomat Josh Huck was given her responsibilities.

Greek officials were reportedly largely silent on the Guilfoyle situation, and Kostis Hatzidakis, Greece's deputy prime minister, said that relations with America remained at a "high point."

The officials saw the situation as a "matter concerning the United States," but their silence was criticized by opposition parties, with one lawmaker seeing the situation as "an issue of national dignity."

The allegations that led to her resignation as ambassador revolved around a request for $100,000 meant to pay off her American Express credit card debt shortly before her Senate confirmation hearing in 2025.

The lump sum was allegedly expected to be wired by Deters after he was asked by Guilfoyle, who promised to be his "ride or die in Trump world" if he gave in to her request.

In a New York Times publication, messages between Deters and Guilfoyle reportedly show the then-ambassador writing to Deters saying, "Honey, please I need you to get this done for me today."

Deters' relationship with Guilfoyle had supposedly gotten stronger after she was made the ambassador to Greece.

He reportedly sought her help with tax and legal issues and had discussed payments if she helped him reach Trump administration officials like Pam Bondi and Billy Long, as well as the IRS commissioner.

Guilfoyle's lawyer has challenged the authenticity of the correspondence and Deter's allegations, insisting that his client has done nothing wrong.
